Alan Smith on the left hand side of the picture received a Lifetime Acheivement Award, for his contribution to Sport.

Alan won the Welwyn Hatfield Service to Sport award back in February 2010.

Alan has been involved in sport within the borough for over 50 years and his support to WGC hockey club and to hockey across the county has finally been recognised.

Jodie Williams is one of the country finest athletes. Back in February she was presented with a special by the borough council for her outstanding achievement within sport. Jodie this year won the Young Sports Person of the year award again for her recent acheivements on the world stage.

Jodie is currently World Youth Champion in the 100m. And is that fast women in the country over 200m

King George Football Club is one of newest clubs in the borough. They have had an outstanding year, both on and off the pitch. This year they were awarded 2nd Place in the Best New Club Category.

Richard Charlesworth unforatunately could not be there on the night. But Richard is an Olympic Swimmer from Hatfield. In February he won the Welwyn Hatfield Sports Person of the Year and went on to win the County award as well.

Richard is currently in the USA training and we wish him all the best and hopefully see him in London.
