Sporting Achievements
Welwyn Hatfield is proud of the many acheivements gained our athletes, coaches and volunteers. If you as a club or organisation are having any form of awards ceremony and would like WHSPAA to be a part of the programme please get in touch and we would happily support if possible....you will also be able to get your photo's and publicity up on the website.
The Herts Youth Games is a county wide competition where all 10 boroughs and district compete in a one day tournament at the University of Hertfordshire. The Games are based on increasing participation of young people in sport and aims to offer young people from across the county to compete for there district. The majority of the sports played are aimed at sub-club level, and therefore target those not currently involved in that particular sport. Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council is thank to their partners University of Hertfordshire who organise and manager the borough team on the councils behalf.
The borough Sports Awards organised by the council celebrate everything sporty...the awards which WHSPAA supports fully every year give opportunities for school pupils and teachers, local teams, coaches and officials as well as our most talented athletes to be recognised. We urge all clubs and schools to put forward nominations. The awards are held in February every year just before the school half term.
The winners from the Borough awards are put forward every year to the county sports awards organised by Herts Sports Partnership. This event is held at the University of Hertfordshire and usually takes place in October.
