Herts Coach Education Week
Herts Coach Education Week 2012 takes place in February half term (11-19 February) at venues around the county. There is a full programme of courses, workshops, seminars, lectures and other events. AND

There are more than 20 individual sports featured, including badminton, basketball, boxing, cycling, dodgeball, fencing, football, netball, rugby, swimming, table tennis and trampolining.
(There are some links below to selected courses, etc. - but you really do need to see the complete programme for details of the full range of what's available in the week!!)
There is a strong workshop programme covering:
- Clubmark and coaching basics - Safeguarding & Protecting Children, First Aid and Equity in Your Coaching
- Sport-specific CPD - badminton, tag rugby, netball, rugby union
- Generic CPD - FUNdamentals of Movement, SAQ, Managing Challenging Behaviour, Coaching Children and Young People
Sport science features throughout the week, including:
There are coaching award courses in:
- Basketball
- Dodgeball
- Futsal
- Indoor Rowing
- Orienteering
- Rugby Union
- Trampolining for Teachers - Level 1 and Level 2
Disability sport and Leadership are integral to the programme, with:
- Herts County Disability Swimming Development Day
- disability badminton and football sessions
- How to Coach Disabled People in Sport workshop
- courses for leaders in American flag football, baseball, cycling, golf, lacrosse and running
- Award courses in Dance Leadership and Community Sports Leadership
And a couple of special events for coaches:
- The latest Learning From Legendary Coaches lecture from Principal Lecturer David Turner, putting the spotlight on Aussie cricket maestro John Buchanan
- A Business Essentials workshop delivered by Mike Lynch of GBSports - essential information for sports coaches and coaching programme administrators
We even include officials!
- Badminton - Young Officials and Tournament Organisers/Referees
- Gymnastics - Event Officiating and Introduction to Judging
- Netball - Young Umpires
